The Story

Franzi and Jan have decided to escape this hectic pace and focus on the beauty and freedom of nature instead. Their journey begins in Malmö, from where they cycle their way through the breathtaking Scandinavian landscape to the North Cape. Along the way, they will explore remote trails, far away from cities and crowds. But their adventure doesn’t end at the North Cape – they return to Malmö via Finland and Sweden, having covered a total of over 6,000 kilometers and 60000 meters in altitude.

The film not only captures the beauty of the landscape and the challenges of bikepacking, but also focuses on the escape from the everyday routine of our modern society. „The way around (our problems)“ is intended to inspire and encourage people to focus on the essentials and enjoy the peace and freedom of nature.

Jan Schäfer

Hey, my name is Jan and I am a 22-year-old photographer, filmmaker and designer living in Munich, Germany. I have a bachelor degree in media design and working as an in-house editor in a production company for corporate and television in the very heart of Munich.

In my free time, I pursue my passion for cycling and mountaineering. And of course my camera is always with me to take photos that do not always follow the rules. Always according to the principle. Creativity has no borders.

Hello there! I’m Franzi, 21-year-old and a sport-science-student at TU Munich. Since childhood, I always loved to be creative. Over the years, my passion to sports has more and more increased.

My cycling journey just started two years ago, within that brief span, it has evolved into an important aspect of my identity. I was quickly captivated by the sense of freedom and exhilaration it offered.

Now I’m passionate to bring my creative work and my obsession for sports together to inspire people.
